The Mayan calendar does *not* end on that date. It reaches a round number like the western calendar did on 1/1/2000. Einstein did not predict anything having to do with a magnetic pole shift… ever.

There will be no ‘galactic alignment’ or ‘planetary alignment’ of any kind, and we will not pass through the central plane of the galaxy, and even if these events were to occur, they would not cause any problems for us.
There is no "Planet X" or Nibiru. If someone claims that this object exists, then many regulars in this forum have been asking for the RA/Dec coordinates for it. One website is offering $5,000 for these coordinates: http://nibiruchallenge.blogspot.com.

My calendar ended on 31st December 2008. The world doesn’t seem to have been destroyed. Einstein predicted nothing of the sort about the poles changing. If you disagree, please supply a reference.
The Mayan Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That’s all there is to it. The Mayans themselves never predicted the end of the world would happen at that time.
All the doomsday predictions attached to this date are, without exception, unscientific nonsense, perpetrated by frauds and hoaxers.

Of course not. There is no evidence to support that claim.
No old calendars end on that date. (The ancient Mayan calendar enters a new cycle in that month, but the Mayans didn’t associate that with the end of the world.)
Einstein never predicted any "change of poles", for that date or any other date. Even if he had, a magnetic pole reversal would hardly destroy the planet.

1- Einstein never said, in his entire career, anything about changing of poles… He didn’t predict the end of the world.
2- The Mayan Calendar ends on Dec 21 (not 12), 2012. So, rather than assuming that they knew the world would end, why don’t we just assume any of the following:
-Their calendar loops past this point.
-They got tired of making the calendar, or were unable to continue it.
3- There is absolutely no hard evidence to tell us that the world will end. It is an internet phreakout, and nothing more.

My reasoning: The Aztecs predicted that the god Quetzalcoatl will arrive in the year 1519. Coincidentally in that year (or is it a coincidence?), Hernando Cortes arrived and destroyed the Aztecs.
